Chipless: Non-coder built a poker app with Claude for $68, dealt 19,072 hands

A builder with one college coding class used Claude to ship Chipless, a free poker app tracking real cards and virtual chips. 19,072 hands dealt across 38 countries.

A poker app built entirely with Claude by someone whose only coding experience was a single college class has dealt 19,072 hands across 38 countries.

The app, Chipless, lets you play poker with a physical deck while everyone’s phone tracks bets, stacks, blinds, and pots — no chips needed. The builder, Reddit user /u/BriefMany1548, posted the build story on r/ClaudeAI.

By the numbers:

  • $68 — total cost to build and launch
  • 19,072 hands dealt
  • 3,035 games started
  • 7,896 game joins
  • 38 countries in three weeks of tracking
  • 2 Reddit posts — the entire marketing strategy

The builder had one college coding class, finished with a B. No team, no prior shipped product. Claude handled the full build.

NOTE

Chipless isn’t the first “physical cards + virtual chips” concept. Chips of Fury offers a similar chips-only mode. The difference: Chipless was built solo by a non-developer using AI, and it’s already seeing real usage at scale.

$68 total build cost. A non-coder with a B in one college class shipped a multiplayer app now running games in 38 countries. Free, no download, at playchipless.com.
