Most AI coding tools either bury your token usage or don’t surface it at all. whoburnedmore is an open-source CLI that pulls consumption data from Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, and 12+ other tools into a single view — then lets you post your numbers to a public leaderboard.
The pitch is simple: run one command, see who burned more.
- Supports 12+ AI coding tools — Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, and others
- Public leaderboard — opt-in comparison against other developers’ token burns
- Open source and free — no account required to check your own usage
- CLI-first — no dashboard to log into, no browser tab to keep open
The creator built it because they use Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor daily and “had no idea how much I was actually burning across all of them combined.” Each tool reports usage in its own format, in its own place — if it reports at all. Aggregating that into one number turns out to be genuinely useful for anyone watching API costs or trying to understand which tool eats the most tokens per session.
The “Spotify Wrapped” framing is mostly marketing, but the underlying problem is real. Developers running multiple AI assistants can easily lose track of cumulative spend, especially when switching between tools with different billing models. A single CLI that normalizes and totals that data fills a gap none of the tool vendors have bothered to close.
NOTE
The leaderboard is public and opt-in. Running the CLI locally shows your own stats without sharing anything.
Available now, free, open source. If you’re running more than one AI coding tool and have never checked your combined token usage, this is a five-minute install that answers the question.
