Brand Guidelines

Anthropic's official skill that applies the company's brand colors, typography, and visual conventions to slides, documents, and other artifacts.

What it does

Brand Guidelines gives Claude Anthropic’s official visual identity — the exact hex values for its dark, light, and accent palette, plus its Poppins/Lora typography pairing — and instructs it to apply them consistently across generated artifacts. When you ask Claude to produce a slide deck, document, or diagram, the skill sets headings 24pt and above in Poppins (falling back to Arial), body text in Lora (falling back to Georgia), and cycles non-text shapes through the orange, blue, and green accent colors. It is most useful when you want output that visibly matches Anthropic’s look rather than a generic default theme.

Use cases

  • Style a python-pptx presentation so headings, body copy, and accent shapes match Anthropic’s brand without you specifying colors or fonts manually.
  • Convert a plain draft document into an Anthropic-branded PDF or DOCX using the correct hex values (#141413 for text, #faf9f5 for background, #d97757 as the primary accent).
  • Generate on-brand diagrams and charts where fills and callouts rotate through the orange/blue/green accent set instead of default matplotlib or Office palettes.

When to use it

  • You are producing an artifact intended to look like it came from Anthropic (internal deck, partner doc, demo).
  • You want consistent color and type choices across a series of generated files, not one-off styling.
  • You are working in python-pptx, python-docx, or another format where the skill can apply RGB values and fonts programmatically.

When NOT to use it

  • You need to match a different company’s brand — the skill only encodes Anthropic’s identity.
  • The target format is plain text, markdown for the web, or another medium where colors and fonts are controlled by the reader’s environment.
  • You require exact typographic fidelity in an environment where Poppins and Lora are not installed and Arial/Georgia fallbacks are unacceptable.

Installation

Install in Claude Code

/plugin install brand-guidelines@anthropic-agent-skills

If you haven’t added the Anthropic marketplace yet, run this first:

Add Marketplace

/plugin marketplace add anthropics/skills

After install, just mention it in conversation:

Prompt

Use the brand guidelines skill to restyle this pitch deck in Anthropic's colors and typography.

Troubleshooting

Fonts render as Arial and Georgia instead of Poppins and Lora. The skill falls back automatically when Poppins or Lora are not installed on the system running the code. Install both font families in your environment (or in the container where the artifact is being generated) before running the skill again.

Accent colors look washed out or off from the spec. Check that the artifact is being rendered in sRGB and that no theme layer is remapping colors. The skill writes exact RGB values (#d97757, #6a9bcc, #788c5d); any drift usually comes from a downstream color profile or a template overriding the fills.

Body text is unreadable on dark backgrounds. Ask Claude to switch the text color to the light brand value (#faf9f5) for that section. The skill picks text color based on background but can miss cases where a shape sits on top of another dark fill.
