What it does
Theme Factory gives Claude a library of 10 named visual themes (Ocean Depths, Sunset Boulevard, Modern Minimalist, Tech Innovation, Midnight Galaxy, and six others), each with a hex color palette and header/body font pairing. When you ask Claude to style an artifact, it shows you a PDF gallery of all themes, waits for your pick, then re-styles the artifact’s colors and typography to match. If none of the presets fit, it generates a new named theme from a short description and applies that instead. Most useful when you already have a draft slide deck, doc, or landing page and want consistent, non-default styling without hand-picking colors.
Use cases
- Re-style a slide deck before a presentation — take a plain artifact Claude just generated and apply Tech Innovation or Midnight Galaxy for a client-facing look.
- Brand a one-page HTML landing page — pick Desert Rose or Botanical Garden and have Claude rewrite the CSS variables and font stack across the whole file.
- Generate a custom theme from a brief — describe a mood (‘muted navy, serif headers, editorial’) and get a named palette + font pairing you can reuse across future artifacts.
When to use it
- You have an existing artifact (slides, doc, HTML) that looks generic and needs a coherent visual identity.
- You want to compare several styling directions quickly without designing palettes from scratch.
- You need header/body font pairings that already work together, not just a color list.
When NOT to use it
- You have a strict brand guideline with fixed hex codes and fonts — build those directly instead of picking from presets.
- The artifact has no visual layer to style (plain text, JSON, code files).
- You need pixel-level layout changes; this skill only touches colors and typography, not spacing or structure.

Prompt
Apply the Theme Factory skill to the slide deck you just made — show me the theme options first, then style it with the one I pick. Troubleshooting
Claude applies a theme without showing the gallery first. Explicitly ask it to display theme-showcase.pdf before making any changes. The skill’s own instructions require this step, but Claude sometimes skips ahead when you sound decisive.
Fonts don’t render in the final artifact. The themes assume the target environment can load their font stacks. For HTML artifacts, confirm the fonts are Google Fonts or system fonts and that the <link> or @import line was added. For slides, check the font is installed in the rendering tool.
Custom-generated theme looks nothing like your description. Give a more concrete brief: name 2-3 reference brands or moods, specify serif vs sans-serif, and call out one or two anchor colors. The skill infers loosely from short prompts.
