Chat SDK: X adapter brings bot support to seven platforms

Chat SDK's new X adapter adds mention and DM bot support to X, joining Slack, Discord, GitHub, Teams, Telegram, and WhatsApp in a single-codebase approach.

Chat SDK’s adapter roster hits seven platforms with the new X adapter — bots can now reply to mentions and DMs on X from the same codebase that handles Slack, Discord, GitHub, Teams, Telegram, and WhatsApp.

What the adapter handles automatically:

  • CRC verification and webhook signature checks — no manual crypto setup
  • OAuth token refresh — keeps long-running bots authenticated without intervention
  • Public mentions and DMs — both supported through X API v2 and the X Activity API

The single-codebase pitch is the real draw. You write bot logic once, swap adapters per platform. The X adapter fills the last major social platform gap — the adapter directory now covers seven channels.

Two constraints worth flagging. Likes are the only supported reaction — no custom emoji reactions like Slack or Discord offer. And X has no native streaming, so responses post once on completion rather than token-by-token. If your bot generates long outputs, users see nothing until the full response lands.

NOTE

X’s automation rules apply to all automated messages. Review the policy before shipping — non-compliant bots get suspended.
