eve’s new Chat SDK channel bridges any Chat SDK adapter to an eve agent — one connection point, every platform Chat SDK supports.
What this gives you:
- Platform reach without rewrites — Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Resend, Liveblocks, and any other surface with a Chat SDK adapter connects through a single channel
- Familiar handler pattern — register handlers on
botexactly as you would in a standalone Chat SDK app; callingsendinside a handler routes the message to your eve agent - Overridable defaults — the channel ships with built-in
eventshandlers; supply your own to override any of them
Chat SDK is Vercel’s open-source TypeScript library for building bots across Slack, Teams, Discord, GitHub, Linear, WhatsApp, and more from one codebase. eve is their framework for running durable agents. Until now, connecting an eve agent to those platforms required either a first-class eve channel for each one or custom glue code. The Chat SDK channel collapses that into one adapter-driven bridge.
The Resend adapter shows the pattern clearly: users email your agent, eve runs the conversation as a durable session, and replies land back in the same thread as rich HTML emails. No email-specific code in your agent — the adapter handles transport, eve handles logic.
NOTE
eve and Chat SDK divide responsibilities cleanly: Chat SDK handles receiving and posting platform messages, eve handles agent orchestration and durable sessions. If you already have a Chat SDK bot, the migration path is registering your existing handlers on the eve channel rather than rewriting them.
